Fishing is a hobby which a lot of people in love with it and they find a great time of fun and relax doing it, either with friends or family. It is a time for unity and a great escape from the pressures of our life.

To go fishing, you needs to obtain a fishing license since it is required by law and regulations regarding fishing varies from state to state.


In some states, you need to have 2 licenses. One is called the Conservation license which is a prerequisite before you can obtain a fishing license.

Getting a license to fish is very different from getting a driver's license. The person does not have to take a test or get a learner's permit before having it.

The Conservation license can be obtained for Fisheries, Wildlife and Parks or FWP. This is done by giving your social security number and some other information requested. A valid driver's license or valid photo ID must also be presented for security of the license to be processed.

The fishing license allows a person to fish or possess any aquatic creature as long as authorized by state fishing regulations. This license is non-transferable, not refundable and it is valid only for one year or season.

Since fishing licenses as mentioned earlier vary from state to state, a fishing license can be a resident license or a non-resident. For one to qualify for a resident license, the person must have resided in that particular place during a period of time like 6 months, must be a local taxpayer, you must be a registered voter, purchased a vehicle and have valid driver's issued in that state. Also, do not have or apply for any resident hunting fishing or trapping privileges in another state or country.

A non-resident can fish in another state, provided the person is accompanied by a person residing in that state.

about age there is no age limit for anyone to purchase a fishing license. People young and old can get it. just who is under age 11 can get a fishing license for free. but who are older they have to pay a certain fee to acquire the license.

With the proper license, you can only take the right equipment, a boat and start having some fun fishing being close with nature doing your lovely hobby and good luck.
