if Sharks was arround you area it  can disrupt people from catching fish. so by pouring the blood of some fish on a paper towel or newspaper and rolling it into a ball, then casting it overboard, sharks will follow it with the current and leave the area increases the chances of catching fish and removing worry and you can go back for hopeful fishing.
